Master in Industrial Mathematics, jointly organized by the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and four Spanish universities, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, Universidad de A Coruña, and Universidad de Vigo, attending to:

  • The European needs for professionals in the mid/long term as defined by the European Union and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. See, e.g., the OECD document entitled "Global Science Forum. Report on Mathematics in Industry" (http://www.smithinst.ac.uk/News/OECDReport)
  • The requeriments for international master programs developed in the framework of the Erasmus Curriculum Development project (ECMIMIM), funded by the European Union in the "Lifelong Learning program".

Main objectives:

  • Enhancing analytical capacity and knowledge, keeping in mind future integration of the students in professional/research teams in industry/academia.
  • Providing skills for modeling engineering systems as well as design, construction and use of specific software in at least one industrial sector.
  • Introducing students in R&D topics related to the material in the program courses.

Some peculiarities of the Master program:

  • Two specialties on Modeling and Numerical Simulation, which are increasingly demanded by industry.
  • Emphasis in constructing specific solutions for specific industrial problems.
  • Face-to-face courses, which can also be followed by videoconference, with online material.
  • Several companies collaborate in the program, providing specific topics for the Master thesis and hosting students.
